Sales = a good reason to buy some ships!
The Westminster makes up the set of Type 23s released by Trumpeter so far, and the PLA Navy FFG, it was under $25 and I needed to make up the value of an order to the free-postage limit, so I justify it all by saying I would have paid the amount in postage for what I paid for the FFG, so I got it for free..
.. And I haven't got any modern Chinese ships in the stash..

I do it the other way around, I get the kit for the stash then worry about the reference stuff when I go to build it..

Would you have a better modern 1/350th Ship to reccommend? I dont want to get so frustated that it becomes one of the "never finished" builds....

Of course!
That kit is a great kit and I think you will have no troubles with it, but for an easier introduction to modern 1/350 ships may I suggest one of Trumpeter's Type 23 Frigates, HMS Kent, Montrose or Westminster. RedDuster has just done one for the Trumpeter campaign and it has come out looking great. I have all three in the stash and would be more than happy to build one along side you to help out in any tight situations.
WEM make a nice PE set for them that I also have in the stash, but I am more than hapy to build an OOB one if you want.. after all I can always get another one..
Another option is one of Trumpeter's PLA Navy or US Navy modern ones. I have their PLA Navy Type 54 FFG in the stash as well and it looks like a beauty. As usual moulding is first rate and fit will be good as well knowing Trumpeter.
Fundly enough I also have the Wasp in the stash with the MK1 PE set...

I have spoken (well emailed with) Sprue Brothers before and they don't mind you using their pics as it is free advertising. A sensible view for once (unlike ModelWarship's where people think they own others photos).
If you are interested in the Montrose WEM also make a replacement gun turret for it in resin so you can actual model the early Type 23 and a later Type 23.

Well after getting the book, I had to get these:
Now for some gun barrels and pe for them all and to build the Littorio in one of her camo schemes rather than the plain grey Trumpeter offer.
Lets hope Trumpeter see sense to release an Italian destroyer or two to provide escort. Oh and Trumpeter it's RM not RN as in Regia Marina

It is the Richelieu set I have, not the Roma.. Derrr..
I would be choosing the Mk1 Desin one as well Luciano as it comes with barrels, deck and brass.. but unfortunately no truck...

Let me share with You the marvelous look at these two boxes that arrived during the last few days. I wanted the Agano for more than a Year, ever since I finished the I-58 and was fascinated by the Japanese ship design. Its a bit expensive - 100 Euro for a 7000 ton light Cruiser, but once I opened the box I had no regrets. I also had to get the Indy. Its the best price/value kit of a ship I have seen so far.
Ok and since I had the camera out I decided to take a picture of "The Stash" aswell. I dont know if you noticed, but Im more like a "cruiser guy"
Well after one year of "Shipbuilding" I have Two Subs and One Destroyer finished, one Cruiser in the dock and 5 boats in the stash, hmm, I think I have to speed things up

That's the Mk.1 Design Roma set, a G-model Roma screw set and a WEM set for the Mirage Flower class corvette.

This arrived in the post yesterday. Not a model but a fantastic book on RN carriers of all sorts. I'd put this in the same league as RA Burts Battleships series as a must have.
It'll come in handy for the day when Mr Model manufacturer releases some RN carriers in 1/350
