Did you try the contact form on their website?
Might be some delay in answering due to holidays here in Europe too.

Stephen, you may need tp be sitting down when they gave you the postage rates anyway. Germany seems to have some of the highest postage rates in the known world for stuff going to Australia.

I just went to the site again and looked at his Bismarck build. I was struck by the fact that he had used very very little PE on the ship. Wouldn't you think if you sold the stuff and it was any good you would be using it wherever possible?

January 2nd update:
Working on the capstans now. Added vents on the shelter deck accommodation to the centre 15cm mount bay, added stiffeners to the aft shelter deck bulkhead underneath the catapults and added the mounting plate for the main mast stays on the shelter deck accommodation at the aft 15cm mount bays. Added the forward storage tubes for the barrel cleaning rods and the 37mm AAA bulwarks:

I ran into a nice link to some 3D images of the Bismarck:

Cheers,
Julian

Hi Daniel and Jan,
a very happy 2013 to both of you !
I think you are still out in front Jan
Slow and steady here, have had some problems along the way, had to strip and repaint part of the main deck, the Trumpeter swastika air recognition signs shattered when I put them in water so I had to make up some of my own with Testor's decal film. Seem to have things under control now.
Back to work tomorrow so that will slow the pace too.
Cheers,
Julian

My package from Frank Brechmann in Germany will be arriving tomorrow and my 1/200 AAA sets have shipped from GPM in Poland so I am slowly getting some detail sets together.

The "Big B" is looking great, Julian. I'm particularly impressed with the deck, it looks very realistic. shows what can be done with careful painting. Al

Hi Al,
all the best for 2013 !
Thank you very much, the big B is starting to work into shape now after a rather strained start to the build.
cheers,
Julian

The polish website you listed has some good photoetch for 1 200 scale plus they have a set of 3 frets for the Bismarck and resonable priced as well. It is such a shame about the other modle site they had some really nice photoetch and definately wont ship to Aus. Is the man you mentioned Frank Brechmann in Germany on the same website as the one listed earlier if so you are very lucky..... have you looked at the porthole sets from the polish website at all

Hi Stephen,
Frank Brechmann runs "der Sockelshop", a fantastic model shop in Germany.
GPM in Poland is also a very trustworthy and helpful web based shop.
cheers,
Julian

The Model battleship site does seem to have gone tango uniform. Would be a pity if this was permanent,
