Those float-planes look really great Julian. You're right about how crowded that area is, not a lot of clearance for the wings. I'll bet launching must have upped the pilot's pucker factor quite a bit. Al

Hi Al, apparently there was a very high replacement rate of seat cushions

Hard to believe, but its moving again .... Got some etch from eduard and will combine it with the Trumpeter inbox etch.

Masking is .... hell ....

Been working on the hull, I am going for the repaint i Norway scheme, so the hull will be in "used" condition after 3-4 months initial training in the baltic, I figure it may look a bit used - the rest will be fresh paint.

Cheers/Jan

Does look good doesn't it? The horseshoe pattern that I though was an inlet for the forward trim tanks turned out to be a hydrophone sensor in reality Comes up nicely with the grey wash.
Looks very good

The Japanese used to say that perfection is for the Gods and would leave a small fault in earthenware on purpose so as not to anger the Gods, (I bought an old teabowl in Nagoya for an eyewatering price that has a very small fault in the rim put there by the artisan who made it). Your build is excellent Jan, enjoy what you are creating.
cheers,
Julian

I'm relatively new here and wondering...
I was following this build with great enthusiasm and cannot help but wonder if it has moved or is finished!?
I check nearly daily and notice nothing has been posted since 8/24/13.
i do not mean to push or be rude,...just wondering and anxious to see this buiild completed.

Hi Bill,
the Bismarck has been put on hold due to the "Channel Adversaries" blog. When the Vosper build has finished work on the Bismarck will proceed here.

I just made a big mistake and went to the Eduard site and looked at their 1/200 Bismarck stuff... That chain railing looks like it may send me nuts, but I may have to get it.
And WEM are bringing out photo-etch grilles for the underwater intakes in a week or two..
And the Artwox set hasn't even been released yet.. or the Advanced Pontos Set..
Must have patience...
