Greetings from the Adelaide Desert. No rain for weeks and everything is dry as a chip.. Just the opposite to summers in Queensland when it rains almost everyday, often in downpours.
But it is summer and I do have Air Con..

But back to modelling. Having used many power tools over the years, and having been trained in their safe use while in the RAAF I always wear some safety glasses whenever I use rotary tools like dremels. Lucky for me I was on Friday night. I placed a cut-off wheel in my Ryobi tool and turned it on. The wheel shattered, ripped the main wheel I was using off the shaft after shearing the screw holding it in place, then bent the shaft like a pretzel.
Here is the remains of the screw still in the shaft.
Something hit me in the jaw and something pinged off my opti-visor's head strap. I found bits of the smaller wheel all over the room. I had the second wheel on to take up the space due the cut-off wheel being thin and the screw a little too long for just the wheel.
After that event I got back to cutting off the part of the gun tubs I needed to remove. I then applied Mr Surfacer to the cut edges to smooth them out a little even though you won't see them anyway I don;t think. Might be covered by splinter padding.
Next I continued with the oerlikons constructing the shoulder harness thingies..
Which I then glued to the rest of the gun..
I then finished off the gun pedestals. The gun shield is not glued on in this photo but the pedestal is in place.
Then I started on three small ammo boxes..
Just a few brackets etc to fit to them. Then a larger box for oerlikon ammo magazines.
The magazines have detail on both sides.
And that's it for the moment. I was going to spend the day in the hobby room today but got side tracked for most of it .. again!

A bit of painting, a bit of glueing and then I have to wait for a few 3D printed parts to arrive before I attach the bridge to the wheelhouse,
Cheers for now
