yep, that Spit sure does look like it's had a wash 'n wax!
The decals need to go on now, then I'll be adding the weathering over the top before sealing it all in under a coat of clear matt.
The King will be staying nice 'n clean though I like my ships to be museum style when they're full hull, and this means no weathering-not that I'm opposed to weathering, it's just not my style for full hull builds... 
Hopefully I can get some masking added over the Christmas holidays prior to hitting it with AP507B, but I'm not holding my breath-there's all that food 'n wine that needs to be consumed, and the dockyard is on skeleton staff at the moment
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, (may there be some styrene under your tree ), and a very safe and happy New Year!

and great to see that your workers returned as well I think some extended leave is good for moral at the yard. It seems my workers were quite happy and relaxed and happy to get over all the wine and food of the recent weeks

19th Jan, 2015 update
After having shot a coat of AP507A onto the 'deck' areas (of which I have been very remiss and not taken a photo) I have finally finished masking it all off!
The 'purple' areas you can see are where I used liquid maskol to fill in the centres as this is much quicker than cutting endless pieces of masking tape.
then a coat of AP507B
then the masking off
the big guns...
and dry fitting
and an overall view
now i have the eternal dilemma that we all must face-do i go ahead and fasten objects to the hull, and then clear coat the whole ship, knowing that there will be areas that i cannot hope to reach with the clear coat...
or...
do I assemble each sub assembly, clear coat separately, and hope that i don't destroy railings etc when i go to mount them to the ship? The benefit being that I will be able to access all the areas of the ship with the clear coat

As to your choices - at the time when I did my PoW I glued everything in place before applying the clear coat and it worked ok, however, if there is one kit of a major warship that you could build out of the various subassemblies in the very final stage, then it would be the Tamiya PoW/KGV kits due to their clearly separated, boxy structures. No way trying this on the Repulse, but looking back at the PoW actually both ways seem feasible here

always good to see some colour go on-it gives a sense of progress that can otherwise stall a build
Your Repulse is looking fantastic. I see what you mean about it being very busy up top. The clear coat question is one I always struggle with. The hull is the easy part, but the superstructure always leaves me wondering until that last minute when I take the plunge and either glue or paint!

19th March Update...
It's been quite a while and I apologize folks for my absence! Real life has cut into bench time quite a bit, and I have been bogged down in the minutiae of the build...
The Eduard PE fills in the gaps in the WEM PE and they compliment each other very well.
Eduard PE bits and pieces
ladders, all 19 of 'em and every single step bent up-we must be mad!

funnels.. I still think the way Pontos do their funnels is the best
I love the way the director has turned out using both the Eduard & WEM PE.
Next up paint.
This will allow me to finalise the details so far before moving on to other items...

I know what you mean about how real life cuts into bench time - but things are looking great! I especially like the director with its mix of plastic and Eduard/WEM photoetch. Under paint all the diversity of its construction will disappear, but the depth and complexity will remain. Precise, clean work as always amigo!
