The HMS Roberts-Class Monitor was launched on February 1st, 1941. This ship was fitted during her build with radar for aircraft warning which enabled the ship to be used for air defence as well as in her primary role for naval gunfire support. Her battles include Nort Africa, 1942; Sicily, 1943; Salerno, 1943; Mediterranean, 1943; Normandy 1944; Walcheren, 1944
Skipjack Details in Detail (1:72)
At the end of April we gave a glimpse of RC Subs' photo etch set for the Moebius/Revell USS Skipjack. Now RC Subs has provided images of those parts mounted to the kit.

A new kit from Aoshima of the airplane carrying IJN I-19 B1 Type submarine. This is the boat that sank the carrier USS Wasp and the destroyer USS O'Brien.
A retooling re-release of a WWII IJN Heavy Cruiser. The Takao was the first of four Takao-class heavy cruisers. She survived the war and ended her service as a target ship for the Royal Navy.

Tribal Class Destroyer HMS Zulu (1:350)
A new kit tooling of this historic British destroyer class in the boxing of HMS Zulu. Launched in September 1937, the Zulu saw extensive action in the North Atlantic as well as the Mediterranean in WWII. She was sunk by Italian fighter-bombers on September 14, 1942 after bombarding Tobruk and while rescuing the crew from the HMS Sikh, which had been hit and sunk the previous day.
New Resin Boat Kits (1:72)
Takinga a departure form their usual armor fare, Balaton has released an AN-2 Hungarian Patrol Boat and a US Special Operations 'Special Boat Team' SBT-22 gun boat. Both are available now.

Tom's Modelworks has announced 3 resin World War II ship kits that they plan to release.
HMS Orion was a dreadnought battleship of the Royal Navy. Launched in 1910, she was the lead ship of her class. She was the first "super-dreadnought", being the first British dreadnought to mount guns of calibre greater than twelve inches, and the first British dreadnought to have all of its main armament mounted on the centerline.
First a blast from the past with Lindberg's re-release of a WWI 'Q-Ship' and now Iron Shipwrights releases a new kit of a German World War II counterpart, the commerce raider "Atlantis".

HMS Portchester Castle was a Castle-class corvette launched on 21 June 1943 at Swan Hunter shipyard in Newcastle upon Tyne. She was the only RN ship to be named after Portchester Castle in Hampshire.
To coincide with the re-release of their waterline Akagi kit, Hasegewa is offering a wooden flight deck accessory for the kit.

USS George Bush CVN-77 (1:720)
The U.S.S. George HW Bush (CVN-77) is the tenth and last of the Nimitz class nuclear powered carriers. Italeri is now offering and updated version of their kit of this ship.
WWI German Torpedo Boat (1:350)
The Kaiserliche Marine Torpedo Boat, "A86". Operating at the shallow waters of the Coast of Flanders, almost 40 boats were built and were all known as excellent seagoing ships which also proved to be very maneuverable as well.
New HMS Dreadnought, 1907 kit (1:700)
One of the few naval ships that truely revolutionized naval power. Launched in 1906, she served as the Royal Navy's flagship from 1907 to 1911.
New USS Iowa Battleship Kit (1:200)
Trumpeter continues to expand its1/200 fleet with the lead ship in her class, the USS Iowa BB-61. The Iowa was the only Iowa battleship to serve in the Atlantic durring WWII and also served in the Korean War and for a time durring the 1980's. She is currently a museum ship in Los Angelas, California.
Germany produced a total of 15 Zerstörer 1936A-class destroyers, which the Allies referred to as the Narvik class. They were actually closer in size to a light cruiser than a destroyer, and they were known only by their hull numbers and didn’t receive any names. They sported powerful 5.9-inch guns.
