Squadron had a sale of 25% to 45% off last month, So I decided to get what I could now instead of paying full price later.
I now have to get the PE for all of them . Started to price all of them, Ouch.
Maybe they will go on sale for X-Mas,

Royal Navy Dryad class torpedo gunboat built 1893. Great resin castings, (awfully large number of small resin parts) turned brass barrels from Master, stock rod for making mast & decent instructions.

I have shot a white undercoat at the hull, had to start it as soon as I got home.

Talking to the guy from JB Models, they have other similar Victorian small RN stuff planned.

She sure is an interesting lady. Had quite a chat with guy from JB, his intentions at the moment are more along smaller craft lines in 1/350, early TBD's and the like were mentioned.

I get the feeling he is into producing smaller vessels, his line in 1/700th seems mostly to be destroyers and the like.

Boy, you guys sure know how to make a modeler jealous! My most recent acquisitions as far as kits are 1/350 Gambier Bay (B-day present from C-in-C, and Dragon's 1/700 U.S.S. Arizona premium kit and U.S.S. Randolph. I've been building in 1/350 or larger and thought I'd give 1/700 a shot. I did just get in the metal barrels for Revell's 1/144 Fletcher to go with the resin turrets, etc., and some 1/350 1.1 Chicago Pianos from Yankee Modelworks for some early war DDs and the new book on the Battle of Midway. Hoping that Santa (a/k/a the C-in-C will decide in need the new 1/192 scale Sumner Class resin kit from Tenoart (sic).

I just received Veteran Models new DKM fire control, bridge equipment, and searchlights sets. Their quality is fantastic! They also have flakvierlings with turned barrels (which I didn't order, unfortunately). I hope they continue with twin 37's and 20 mm's - Trumpeter's German ships certainly need them.

Just got 2 boxes in... From Squadron I picked up the 350 Knonprinz (konig class) and the 1/35 E-100 (I play world of tanks and want to model the tanks I play...I have started working toward this one finally) From China I got a 1/35 Mercedes G4....that is the big 6 wheel car Hitler rode around in.



I also recieved notification the other day from HLJ that my new retooled 350 Yamato has been shipped

Very nice and of course very big.

I love it.

Oops plus also a 1/72nd U-boat also of the mighty Trade me. (NZ version of E-Bay)

I already have the Trumpeter Graf Spee but won the Academy Graf Spee PE set on Ebay. I am now going to make this Graf Spee as the Graf Spee and the Trumpeter Graf Spee as the Admiral Sheer... Will it be a case of best laid plans?

Revell's 1/570 RMS Queen Mary for my birthday! Probably going to pick up a brass detail set for her.

Also considering that Encore USS Olympia advertized in FineScale Modeler, as well as a 1/350 Lusitania.

The deliveryman dropped off a pair of Trumpeter 1:350 Queens Elizabeth.

The hull strakes are very proud just like on their Hood kit and I am amazed at how small the parts on the sprue trees are for the superstructure. This kit may not be in the same league as the Dragon Scharnhorst as far as intricate kit engineering goes, but it's definitely a sign of the times.

The Free Enterprise II brings back a lot of memories to me, I grew up down in Dover, and saw her many times sailing out of the Harbour bound for Calias or Boulonge, If I remember correctly she was the first purpose built drive on - drive off cross channel car ferry. Great little kit for it's day, I reckon Airfix should re-release her, can't afford the silly money that kit goes for on the on line auction sites.

I have all but three Warren......Queen Elizabeth, Canberra and the USS Forrestal.

A couple of kits I picked up in Hannants' online sale. I got a Flagman 1:350 U-Boat VIIC/41- a very nice kit and I hope they make more of this quality (I may have to buy the standard VIIC to build as the U-96). I also got a Tamiya 1/700 IJN Hibiki which also includes an extra sprue of gun turrets, torpedo tubes, float-planes and a bunch of other stuff that will be handy in the future.

The tide just washed up Italieri's 1/35 Vosper. Snuck it by the C-in-C and have it hidden in the stash. LOL. Now, all I've got to do is figure out what I'm going to tell her when I start building the monster! She should know better than to let me make an unsupervised trip to the LHS.

So true, Warren, so true, but I think I pulled this one off. She wasn't with me when I scored it and wasn't home when I snuck into the house with and burried it in the "stash". Now, when I start to build it, the cat is going to come out of the bag, but I think the old "honey, I've had that for ages" ploy will save my butt (I hope!).

I got my 2 1/350 IJN destroyers today. The fine molds Amagiri withPT109 a Fubuki class DD and what was listed as Tumpeter but is Mono Chrome Akizuki (Akitzuki) This was that 415 foot monster. This kit also includes a bit of PE. Neither has railings though. Might try and knock off the PT109 this weekend to go with the S boat I did last weekend.

Not a new kit, but picked this up at southern Expo last weeked, for slightly over £20.



Nicely moulded, guns & boats are nice and very useable, Decks are very good. The latest Dragon it may not be, but with the WEM etch added in, a 1/350th cruiser for less than £50. too cheap, might have to add the Master barrels & masts.

Scored the rest of the gear to with Varyag, the WEM fret and the Master turned brass Barrels & Masts / Yard arms.



Even with all this kit the entire project has cost no more than £75, not bad for a 1/350th cruiser, even the CinC can't complain too much about that.
