Great, stuff!
Clean and sharp modelling! A little bit of wash to pick out some hull detail could help to improve it.
Don't forget to post your finished pics here:

Well done!
Cheers,

You know, I tried a wash earlier on and it just came out muddy so I re-sprayed and then darkened in the openings with a super fine marker.
I've done washes on armor, but for this model it just didn't turn out well.
I'll try again on the next ship kit.

Great build Jan, love the subtle weathering, just lifts out the detail without looking over arted.
A setting would really show it off to it's best, sat on the dockside ready to go in the water?
great work however you finally choose to display it.

Sal – good job and congrats on the finish!
Guido – The usual exceptional workmanship and water creation. The photography is top notch.
Steve – congrats on the finish; that is one huge sub, love the Fletcher comparison pic.
Scott- really nice job and congrats on the finish!
Anthony – Congrats on the finish, really nice Wakatake. Love the deck detailing and weathering.
Jan – Beautiful weathering job.
I hope to start on my subs soon; 1:700 ARII modern sub series, avoid them at all costs! Get the HobbyBoss offerings, better quality AND cheaper!
Will build either Trafalgar or LA Class, figuring out how to *attempt* to make a torp-launch scene, we will see how it goes!
Cheers all
PS Weird, first time I posted my replies to the campaigns, they did not show up on the board…

Ahoy all!
I am, as usual, wrapped up in several complicated builds of wingee thingees and targets. It would be nice to step back a bit and do something more straighforward, different, but interesting. Your campaign interests me strangely.
Anyone doing the Trumpeter 1/144 1944 Gato? Anyone's comments on it? It looks like a model that can be built out of the box, not be too over the top of a build, and look nice when done.
I could really see myself doing this one. Yeah... What do you all think?
Thanks!!
Michael

And so, finishing up on this one, I have found the perspex side pieces I was looking for, and have made up the base as I planned, and as shown.
Because this is a full hull kit, I wanted to show all the boat, and not just the upper surfaces - enter a new presentaion method for me, the base with the see-through sides.
Finishing off the surface/wash detail helped glue the sub in place - voila.

Peter - Great idea, technique and result, as usual! I will borrow some of your concepts for my build, thinking on how to show a torpedo 'shot" under water... will start in a couple weeks. Well done! Cheers

Attention on deck!
Thank you for your continued support and input. This one is really turning out nice with a big variety of subjects. It's playing just as I had hoped for.
2 more days and we will have reached half-time of this campaign!
So friends and folks:
Get in gear!
Move your rear!
Post your pictures here:
http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/25246
By now I can see more finished subjects in the thread than in the gallery!
Cheers,
Guido

Actually the "http:/....." is in the wrong position!
Watch out for the http-poition between the brackets "[xxx]http:/.....[/xxx]". Your http is behind th third bracket.
