Thanks Jan.

I have decided to put most of the detail on the first level of the superstruature before I glue it on the hull as it is a great fit even with the wooden deck on there.

But first up it is the waterways and barriers. Railings come last as always with me.. except for the sticky-uppy things of course...

I just realised it is not totally finished as there is structure to put on the rear of the ship but I am waiting until I attach the first and second levels of the superstructure before I do that.

she's looking really good now. I always wondered what those lockers behind the break waters were for-now I see: paravanes!

I can't help but wonder though, if the anchor chain is under-scale???

The Rodney is sidelined for a while while I wait for an item to arrive so I thought I would start another model while I wait.. I ended up starting three and this is the bench at the moment..

Well, my guess would have been, from left to right, a U.S. B-26 Martin Marauder, a British "Mosquito" (based on the landing gear), and a German "Storch" (?).

I guess I need to go back to aircraft identification school!

Greetings everyone.

After a rather long lapse I have a post for your perusal.

It is not that I have been doing nothing on the ship but just that there is so much to do! Thousands of parts and a paint supply problem until recently meant not much got done and it is taking a long time.

The hull is basically finished and now I am on the superstructure and gun turrets. Here are some shots of the superstructure assembly so far.















No big sticky-uppy aerials and masts up yet as I know they would probably get damaged if I did. It is bad enough that the funnel got damaged at some time and some of the detail has disappeared.

Anyway, I have one more weekend before I head off over seas to Sri Lanka and the Maldives so please don't feel too sorry for me..

great to see an update - looks great! Sharp work, and all the detailing, the small boats, PomPoms, the whole superstructure! Very sweet! Makes me really want to build one, only I don't have the room, neither to build nor to display her in 1/200...

And agreed with the others, not feeling sorry either...

Hi All.

Still doing the last 5% of the build that seems to take by far the longest time. Found out one major problem though, something somewhere has gone wrong as the third turret's guns are too long and prevent the turret going into the neutral position as the barrels hit the casement of the middle turret..

Oh dear... but I have come up with a very non-rivet counter solution which I will guarantee no one would notice if I didn't point the probelm out..

Sorry but no photos yet. WHile attaching something yesterday I snagged part of the bridge area and two parts went flying... The main part I found but the smaller part seems to have disappeared forever..

This model seems to be jinxed and now I am just going to attach the masts and the deck railings and that's it. Put it in a dispolay case and go onto something more relaxing.. sigh...
