This is about as far as I've gotten on the Maya...and I ran out of paint. Waiting on some more WEM paint to arrive from over the pond, and I can get back at it

Well I got some work done on the IJN Isuzu over the weekend finished my masking took about two to three hours grabbed my trusty airbrush set to spray some paint but oh dear its not working.

I was a little upset to say the least however I have no one to blame but myself as I am very (extremely) lazy with cleaning it etc. That combined with a what I think was a large blob of paint from the bottom of the jar getting into the needle area jamming things up may have contributed to things.

However after a few hours of cleaning and trial and error its now working. Phew.

I will spray it today fingers crossed LOL

Cheers

ACK!!! Being the anal retentive freak that I am, I clean my airbrush throughly, even between colors. Then again, I probably could use with a hearty dose of therapy...

Hey Martin. See if this sounds familiar...
After getting all the excess paint out of the brush,
1. First dose of Windex, using a cotton swab to clean the sides of the paint cup, and spray until empty.
2. Second dose of Windex, spray until empty.
3. First round of Createx ab cleaner, spray until empty.
4. Pull needle and wipe clean.
5. Second round of Createx ab cleaner and wipe down.

Sometimes it takes me longer to clean than it does to paint.

LOL you guys make me laugh.

Just by way of update I finished my major spraying yesterday.

I am pretty pleased overall how the deck came up. On the final run for assembly and detail painting.

Fingers crossed I am finally on the "home straight" on the mighty IJN Isuzu.

Cheers

Still learning to use my new camera, and couldn't find any good place to take pictures this late at night. I'll post more later in the week.

Here she is, such as she is. I'm very disappointed in my P.E. skills, or lack of them. I also managed to break off and lose the rudder. Finally I somehow managed to paint the decks the wrong color. I couldn't figure out why the Deck Blue on the decks was nearly the same color as the Navy Blue for the sides. When I did some touch up of the deck blue I realized I had painted the decks navy blue, not deck.

Will the model I see in my head ever match the one I see on my work bench?

Some day I may dust her off and try to complete the rails, rigging, and such, but not for now. She's done for the foreseeable future.
