Well, finnaly I know what I am going to build!
It will be the reborn 1/700 USS Cassin DD-372 from MidshipModels - just waiting for PE to arrive and to finish my current project.
For those who don't remember, Cassin was badly damaged in the Pearl Harbour attack and after a massive rebuilt was ready for engagement again in February 1944 and served until the end of the war.
A small and interesting subject - who "win" the race against IJN Chokai (Aoshima)
I'll keep you posted on the updates

USS Aulick is progressing well. Work recently completed on all the depth charge racks, k gun racks. Starting on scratch building aft triple 20mm platform and 40mm midship platforms. Gator's wonderful masks arrived in mail today, so painting has to commence soon!

Ahoy Kenny
My IJN Isuzu has been languishing whilst i have been working on my E-Boat.
I have now put the E-Boat to one side with a view of now painting the IJN Isuzu as a priority.
I have moved my airbrush into my modelling room from the garage which i hope will accelerate build up times.
What do I have to do unassemble the Isuzu, get the parts organized to spray and spray them. I generally have numerous sub assemblies but thats all ok. There will be some fiddly masking but thats also ok. I am intending to as an experiment to spray the deck instead of handpainting it.
An update to follow.
Cheers
Sean

A IJN uniform question!!!
Hello, I'm building the IJN Mogami 1/700 scale for the Leyte Gulf Campaign. I have aslo bought the the photoetched pre-painted IJN figures from Eduard.
What occupation do they have, or more correct, where do the figures fit on the ship according to the color on the uniform? The colours on the uniform are:
* white (shirt + pants)
* white (shirt + pants) + blue waistband
* blue (shirt + pants)
* green (shirt + pants)
* white shirt + blue pants
* green shirt + blue pants
Can anybody help me?
Best regards/ Christer

Hello again!
IJN had a summer and a winter uniform, according to the link Gator provided above.
The question is therefore: summer or winter uniform for the sailor during this Leyte Campaign?

Hello, here is my entry: the IJN Mogami, to the Leyte Gulf Campain.
The Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) launched the cruiser Mogami in 1935. During the Battle of Midway in June 1942, the ship was heavily damaged. The Mogami was rebuilt and then participated in the second half of the Pacific War as an Aircraft Carrying Cruiser. The ship was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf , 25th October 1944. IJN Mogami was equipped with 20.3cm cannons mounted on 3 dual gun turrets, 10 triple 25mm anti-aircraft batteries, 4 dual 12.7mm anti-aircraft batteries, 4 triple tube 61cm torpedo launchers. The “new” heavy Aircraft Carrying Cruiser was able to carry 11 hydroplanes of the following types: Aichi E13A “Jake” and Mitsubishi F1M “Pete”.
1/700 Scale. Manufacturer and kit: TAMIYA: Mogami, PIT-ROAD: PE-123 kit for Mogami, EDUARD: IJN Figures, GMM: Railings, doors, and hatches.
