The 1st crewman has finally reported for duty.
The figure is from 'Wee Friends', but I used one of the RN heads from 'Hornet'. One down, seven to go.
I also mounted the nameplate on the base. It was self-adhesive.
I think it adds an inexpensive touch of class. Al

The Vickers gunner has reported aboard.
He's another of the 'Wee Friends' with one of the RN heads from 'Hornet'. He came with a helmet, but I wanted a head wearing a cap, to go with his casual pose. I figured as cramped as the 'Dustbin' is, no one would try squeezing in there wearing a duffle coat. Al

Thanks Alan, My Karma was good and the 'Force' was with me. I liked this figure for the uniform, and his pose. I heard from Azimut, and the three figures I ordered from them are on the way. Now if U-model will just release theirs, I'll soon have a full crew. Al

Hi Al,
I emailed Rodelfo a while back but haven't heard anything back, not that I'm in a hurry as it will be some time before I get started on the MTBs.
Keep em coming

Hello Alan, I sent an e-mail to U-model, but received no reply from them. I did receive a reply to an e-mail that I sent to Azimut, who carry the U-model line, saying those new figures would be available shortly. Al

The Signalman is aboard, and probably wondering who's steering the boat!
I had to make a new electrical panel on the inner side of the bridge to plug the Lamp cable into. The cable itself is actually made in four separate sections from wire.
The lens is made from a drop of 5 minute epoxy.
His was the easiest face to do, I only had to paint one eye. Al

I received three more crewmen yesterday, from ADV/Azimut. They are very nicely molded, with a few seams that are easily taken care of. They give you a few options with each figure, alternate heads or arms or both.
The 1st comes with two heads, one wearing a woolen watch cap, the other a helmet. He also has alternate left arms, one carrying the included crate.
The 2nd is posed hauling on a rope, or you can have him pointing with his left arm instead. However, IMHO this optional pose looks a little strained, not natural. He also has a choice of heads.
The 3rd is the Helmsman. He turned out to be a problem child. There were supposed to be two heads included, which turned out to be MIA. Later when I tried to match the arms with the body I discovered they were meant for a completely different figure, the "Officer". Quality control was asleep at the switch that day.
Needless to say I fired off an e-mail to Azimut about this and I am confident they will send the missing and incorrect parts. Other than this hiccup, I would recommend these figures to anyone doing a RN subject. Detail is crisp, facial expressions are good, and the optional parts give you a chance to mix and match poses. Al

A small update, another crewman reported aboard, he's from ADV/Azimut.
Still have nobody driving the boat, I'm waiting to hear from the manufacturer about some missing & incorrect parts for the Helmsman. Al

Thanks Alan, I'm figuring (no pun intended) on 8 crewman all told, so I'm halfway there. Do you know the number of crewmen and officers that served on this type of Vosper? Al

Hi Al,
As far as I know 2 officers and 8 enlisted men on the early boats, increased to 2 officers and 10 enlisted men on the later ones as additional equipment was added 1941/42
Cheers

Crewman #5 is aboard. He is from ADV/Azimut and comes with a choice of heads and arms. He can be hauling on a line or pointing. His body leans towards the right so I positioned him with his right foot on the raised portion of the deck so that he would be standing more upright.
The deck is starting to look reasonably busy.
I'm still waiting for the missing parts for the Helmsman, Azimut notified me that they're en route. I keep telling myself it's just a model, but it bothers me that no one is steering the boat! Al
