Hi Alan,

What 'blue' are you using? He fits in well. A littler PVA will hold him in place and won't damage the boat.

Nice work.

Alan

Thanks Alan, I used some Zap super-glue sparingly applied. He's painted with a 'Navy Blue' Acrylic, then dry-brushed with a lightened shade of 'Windsor Blue', which is just a slightly lighter shade of the 'Navy Blue'. I got both from my local Arts & Crafts store. Al

Hello Keith, Thanks for the info on those trousers. Not sure I'm going to use him on this project, but if I do I'll perform a little surgery and replace his legs. Al

The Captain has reported aboard to take command. He is one of the two RN Officers from U-models.

I really like these two figures, and would recommend them to anyone planning on doing the Vosper. When we get a break in the weather I'll post some final pics. Al

Hello Todd, Thanks for the kind words, it was fun. The kit has no vices and there's lots of room for added detail. I'll be following along on your PT-109 build. I'm wondering if Italeri will do a third PT kit. By combining the 109 with the weapons from the 596 you could build a wide variety of boats. Al

Thanks and I was thinking something on the same lines! Rocket launchers 20mm, 30mm event the Japanese 23mm? Why not! Plenty of room in the box!!

Looking forward to the final shots on this!!

Hey Al, once again I'm impressed. The figures you included have brought your Vosper to life, literally! The colors on them just pop out and say hey, look at me. Really top notch. Thanks for getting me back in to modeling, something like 30 years ago I think. I'd have missed out on all the insanity and friendships developed in that time. Just hope that when I get to the 109 boat I can do justice on the figures, at least 1/2 as good as yours. She's looking real good, the boat not your wife, lol and a few more lol's. 2nd thought, Mary better not read this cause the dog house ain't big enough for the 2 of us. bob

First laugh of the day. Good one and still laughing so long as she doesn't find out. Then I might have to hide under it so she can't find me.

I guess I can call this one done. I've thoroughly enjoyed this build. Except for a couple of questionable choices regarding PE instead of plastic on Italeri's part, a great kit. It goes together well and builds into a nice model. I hope Italeri continues to release small combatants in this scale. A Vietnam era PCF Swift boat comes to mind. Hint, hint, Italeri! Well enough editorializing, on to the pics.

I couldn't resist a final shot of two Med adversaries together.

I'd like to thank all those fellow modelers out there. Who through their own build, or, by following along, providing information, inspiration, and supplying moral support helped make this build such a pleasure.

Another nice outcome there Al. You still have the e-boat and the Russian one if it ever comes out to round out the collection. Would be a real nice display if you ever do do them all. But anyway, when people say they like my stuff I say hey, check out my friends work, I'm happy to report that it really blows them away. Like I said, if mine comes out 1/2 as good as yours I'll be happy. And of course I'll deny it publicly but you do inspire me to do better each time, and publicly I do blame you for all my modeling woes. bob d.

Hi Al,

Cracking build, you should try for some pictures with a back drop and natural but not sun light.

Enjoyed both Tom and you builds immensely. Really terrific work Al. The additions to detail you made leave you with a 1st class model. The crew just round it off. Two fine boats you have there.

Cheers

Al

Thanks Alan, for all your kind words, help, and support. I should have come up with some kind of backdrop. I wanted to take advantage of the mild weather we've been having and shoot outdoors. I get better results with natural light, plus I needed some elbow room to film the beast. I'll do better next time.
