I should be starting the Revell type VII D "minenleger" U/boat with the Eduard P.E set soon, so expect a thread shortly after asking for advice

Hi Ahmad, nice to see you around these waters, mate!
I want to share a link with you of a website dedicated to the perfection building of the VIIC by Revell, that may help you out with your build, my friend!
Click Here! Good luck with your build!

Thanks Lou. I finally got my daughter off the computer long enough to download my in progress photos of the Columbus into the gallery. Please don't hesitate to ask if you've got any questions.
I'm getting to the point that I'm just about ready to prime and start painting. The only remaining "building" items left are to scratch build the extra periscope/antenna and the small navigation radar for the top of the sail, and then (after painting) a small clear windscreen for in front of the bridge. Plus I still have to finish the shroud around the propeller. That was a pain in the neck on the Boise and I'm not looking forward to it!

Hi All,
Just posted some photos of the latest 2 U-Boats I have completed, a Type II and a Post WWII FGR Navy Type XXIII.
I hope to complete 2 more Type XXIII`s before the dead line, but we shall see.
All the Best

I thought this was over? I posted my 1/350 USS Growler and 1/72 revell Type VIIC/41 in the Gallery. That'll probably do it for me on this one.

Hi Mike
No - not finished yet!!
It's only over in March 25th

Bravo Zulu on your entries btw

The USS Growler is good change of pace and a good addition to the group built (I am not saying that the Type VII isn't, but the Growler is a less seen fish!!!)
Thanks for entering and finishing your entries!!
So and the rest of you guys that still are working on your entries? Any news??
Please keep us posted
and, of course, keep up the good work!

i'm almost done with my first entry. Its the Revell Type VII B cut away. Which I think is actually half VII A and B. Not sure though. As soon as its done I'm going to start on the Type II D. I hope it comes out better then the revell one.

Ahoy Tripko,
I personally like to use fine fishing line....glues well with CA and is very stable.
Does not expand with climate changes.
Also, white glue applied in thin layers, will simulate the insulators on the
these aerials quite well.
Very nice build so far......
Cheers,

Ahoy mates,
Here's my entry for this campaign a Revell 1/220 USS Lionfish. An old less detailed kit to be sure but it brought back old memories of building one of these with my young son many years ago. I like the finished product although I still need to get some rigging on.

Cheers, Gary
