Thats too bad. I hope you have some other projects to keep you busy. Is there another supplier that you can go with?

Fordboy,
I was out of state for work related training and I missed your post. It looks to me that your portholes have a metalic look to them. Did you use metal on the ports or just the clear plastic?

Ahoy mates,
I had gone POW for a bit and that is not "Prisoner of War" but rather
PRISONER OF WORK ! .....but I am back.
Couple of final photos of my E boat before she goes to the paint shop.
Access door forward of the wheelhouse moved to port and detail added.
Torpedo detailed with detonator and build new fins.
The piece of paper on the roof is a paint mask that will be used to add
air recognition markings to the roof.
Many details are left off as they will be painted separately and added later.

Sean, I see your boat is coming along superby.
I will add my windows after she is painted as I have had bad experiences
with windows in the past.
Cheers,
Joe

Hey Luciano,
Can you post the pick of the s-boat flying the white flag? Be neat to see also could you track down the site you got it from? I try to read and learn about the models as I do them so I can get a feel of what they were about.
Hi Frank sorry for the delay found the pic but alas lost the site.

Luciano,
Thank you for the picture. No problem on the time. I enlarged the photo in order to look at those blotches on the side but it came out fuzzy, do you know what those marks are? Just curious...

Littorio,
One of these day's when I try the whole artistic thing it might be neat to show a boat with hit marks on it.

Hello
Your question about is any 1 building the new Italeri Elco PT Boat.
The answer is Yes I'm building it with some major backdating to the 103 class which was the 1st version of the 80ft that Elco produced.
I'm having to rebuild most of the main deck features plus scratchbuilding the 4 torpedo tubes & new armoured sheilds round the 40mm bofor's gun.
The Boat will also be finnished in the Adaptor ( zebra) scheme & put on a diorama when she's finnished.
I'm about 1/2 way through the main backdating work, nearly ready to tackle the torpedo tubes.
There is a link to my project if you look on here for PT174 zebra scheme.
Building for My pleasure & hoping others like what I build.
Being built at the moment
Way too many unfinished.

Ahoy Shipmates
An update with the deck on as promised.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement Joe. I have yet to send you a PM I will do this shortly. I am pleased the way its coming along.
Joe your effort looks superb my friend I am inspired.
The deck fitted pretty well except around the front hull area where the torpedos shoot out what its called escapes me. Overall I am pleased the way its coming along.
Its nice to see the hull and deck taking shape you can see the fine lines these boats have. They fascinate me no end. I am constantly just holding, turning, & looking at the hull from every angle.

OK... sort of answered my own question. Did some research and found that the 'Tarantul's' are classed as corvettes, but the 'Osa' are class as fast attack craft.
So Gunny can I do the 'Osa'?

Hmmm...well Luciano, I'm sorry, mate, but the Osa for this campaign...hafta say no, my friend.
Yes, she is classed a fast attack craft, but she hunts with missiles, and this campaign's about torpedo boats...an awesome boat, for sure...but I've got an idea...build 'er anyways, and either document the build along the way with photos and build notes and write us up a full build feature when she's done, or provide us with a small portfolio of finished pictures for a "Model On Display" feature?....whaddaya say?

Ahoy mates!

I mainly build armor and aircraft but want to get my feet wet so to speak with a boat. I'm gonna give the Airfix E-boote a try. I may be biting off more than I can chew but I'll give it a try... experience is the best teacher ... right? lol
On the workbench:

1/72 Challenger II (British Armor Campaign)
1/48 AH-64D Apache (CAS)
