Model Ship Scale Aircraft (1:700)
More clear, 3D printed aircraft are now available from Tom's Model Works. From pre Second World War to late war machines, ranging from carrier based planes to multi-engine patrol craft for the nations of the US, Germany, Great Britain and Italy.
New designs for USS Arizona and USS Pennsylvania BB-38 enthusiasts. In addition to superstructures completed previously, 3D-printed, highly accurate funnels for each ship as they appeared at Pearl Harbor is now available in 1/700, 1/426, 1/350, 1/192, and 1/200 scales.
If you have an interest in modeling aircraft and ships of the United States Coast Guard or just an interest in the US Coast Guard itself, this site wills suit you well. Site administrator Frank Williams is a 1975 graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy -and a modeler.
British M-class Submarine (1:350)
Micro Mir of Ukraine has announced the March 2016 release of kit AVSAVM9325, a British M-class Submarine in 1/350 scale.
At the begining of December we announced new sub kits from Trumpeter, one being the Jialoong submersible. Now with a release data set for April 2016. we get a little more information on this little craft.
USS Tennessee BB-43 1941 (1:700)
A mid war version of the Tennessee was released last summer and now a dawn of war version is coming for this spring. If you want a version of the Tennessee as she was at Pearl Harbor the day of the attack, this is your kit.
USS New Jersey BB-62 (1:2000)
Aoshima of Japan has announced AOS00933, a tiny 1/2000 scale version of the U.S. Navy battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62) as she appeared during World War Two.

MicroAce of Japan has announced ARIA130, a 1/600 scale version of the U.S. Navy battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62) as modernized in the 1980s.
US Navy 110' Subchaser (1:350)
This kit represents one of the SC-497 series ship, of which 438 units were built during WWII. Seventy of the SC-497s were converted into patrol control crafts (SCC), 18 were converted into coastal mine sweepers (AMC), and 8 were converted into patrol gunboats, motor (PGM).
New Display Cases (1:700)
Combrig is known for their line of fine 1/700 scale warship kits from the Great War and now they are offering display cases you can use to protect these kits. The cases are in two sizes and are available now.
If you have a the "Lady Lex" or "Sister Sara" in either 1/700 or 1/350 you now have an option for bridge tower styles. Model Monkey makes bridge styles for these American WWII carriers as they appeared in 1936, 1942, 1943 and 1944.
Happy New Year to all our readers! Revell of Germany as issued a flyer of their planned 2016 kits with release dates. They range from re-issues, molds from other manufacturers, special packaging sets and new tooling. Here are all the naval related releases from that flyer.
Project 673 Submarine (1:350)
A relatively unknown boat, the Project 673 SSN was designed in 1960 as a small and fast SSN. To maximize speed, the sail was removed and because of the lack of a sail, this submarine could have been the most maneuverable submarine ever built. Micro-Mir has now released their kit of this Soviet era 'X' boat.
The Project 1710 'Mackerel' submarine (known by the NATO reporting name "Beluga") was a Russian SSA diesel-electric submarine. It was an experimental vessel used for testing propulsion systems, hull forms and control systems. Now Micro-Mir offers a 1/350 kit of this test boat.
Well, there is definitely something funny going over there!
JMSDF Destroyer Akizuki DD-115 (1:350)
Pit-Road of Japan has announced the February 2016 release of PITHMG-04, a 1/350 version of the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force destroyer Akizuki.
In development, a 'Detail-Up' set for the Fujimi 1/350 Kaga aircraft carrier kit. Images here are from the Tertra Models Works' facebook page and depict initial designs.
Coming - IJN Mutsuki PE Set (1:700)
In the works, a new PE set for Pit-Road's 1/700 Mutsuki class destroyer. Tetra Model Works has posted images of this set mounted the model on their facebook page.
I originally posted this in Model Geek but I believe it can be apt for here as well. The latest from Masterpiece Models is a large kit of the submarine Nautilus from Jules Verne's 19th century novel, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This kit is in the Disney 1954 film style rendition of Captain Nemo's vessel.
Big Mo' was commissioned in June 1944, was the stage for the surrender ceremony for the Pacific War and conclusion of World War II, fought in the Korean War and Desert Storm. This new Detail Up Set is for the Tamiya kit (No 78029) representing the Missouri in her Desert Storm service.

Protected Cruiser Chin Yuen (1:144)
A kit of this vessel has been available by Bronco in 1/350 scale but now it joins a growing list of naval kits made in 1/144. The Imperial Protected Cruiser Chin Yuen is a new kit of injected plastic and PE details.
Mk.56 Directors (1:350)
New, from Model Monkey, a 3D Printing designer selling his designs through a Shapeways store, a set of Mk 56 Gun Fire Control System (GFCS) Directors.
HMS Aurora - 1945 (1:700)
HMS Aurora was an Arethusa-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy that served throughout the entire conflict of WWII and is the subject of Flyhawk's latest RN vessel. This injected plastic kit has all the hallmarks of Flyhawk's previous releases of fine molding and PE detail.

MicroAce of Japan has announced a restock of ARI93381, a 1/600 version of the iconic USN aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65).
IJN Destroyer Shimakaze (1:350)
Fujimi of Japan has announced the December 2015 release of FUJ46001, a 1/350 version of the Imperial Japanese Navy destroyer Shimakaze.

January - New Destroyer Kits (1:700)
A release time of early January is expected for IBG Model's first ship kits of the Hunt II Class Destroyers - ORP Ślązak (No 70001) and ORP Kujawiak (No 70002) . IBG has provided us with box art for the new kits.
For Revell's Type IXC/40 U-boat (No 05133), extensive PE detailing for decking, conning tower and more. Many of these parts can be used on both the Type IX and Type IXC/40 kit.

Italeri has re-issues their 1/720 kit of the Kriegsmarine 'Pocket Battleship', Graf Spee. She was commissioned in 1936 and originally called 'Panzerschiff' - armored ship - armed with 11" guns in two triple turrets and designed to out run what she couldn't out fight.

WWII German Torpedoes (1:72)
For November, Special Hobby is planning on offering from CMK kits, two torpedoes used by the Kriegsmarine at the start of the Second World War -the G7a and G7e.
Hasegawa is issuing upgraded versions of their Myoko class cruisers Myoko and Nachi for the new year. These kits appear to have refined detail added and are now full hull kits.
